Artist's Statement

Growing up I was influenced by both Classical and Romantic Style of European Art. I enjoy experimenting with different mediums, and continue to explore skills learned at VCA (Victoria College of Art).

Most days I am out before sunrise trying to capture that magic glow; the blue hour. That blue and violet I feel like an addiction, fascination I am deeply drawn to it in my photography as well as in my paintings. I try to capture the essence, the atmosphere in my art; whether be painting, photography or drawing. Sky, clouds and water I continue to explore and in my “Shore to sky” series I want to capture a moment and feeling a sense of solitude.   In my photographs I explore abstract forms in the movement of water, reflections and shadows.

Texture, light, movement and reflections are a fascinating subject for me. Hope you enjoy my Gallery and journey.

I am mostly attracted by artists who work in the Impressionistic and Expressionistic styles.  In my art, I aim for a strong emotional appeal to the viewer.

The most influential artists past and present in my work are Irina Cumberland, Eva Volf, Lisa Lebofsky, Tibor Nagy, Henry Asencio, Monet, Georgia O'Keefe, Emily Carr, Tom Thomson and Pal Szinyei Merse.
